1. A little rubbing alcohol, lemon juice and water will keep all your glass surfaces streak free and smelling fresh and clean.
White Vinegar and water will work just as well and the smell disappear quickly. Also you can recycle newspaper as a means to clean your various glass surfaces with vinegar whereas the lemon/rubbing alcohol and water method does not permit. Also, the basis for the Method Glass Cleaner.
2. Mineral deposits and soap scum in your shower and sinks? Cut a lemon in half and rub the lemon juice all over the scummy surfaces. Let it sit for a few minutes then wipe off with a rag.
Again white vigare can be substituted if desired and Method Multi-Surface is based on this gentle acidic alteration of the residues on your various surfaces.
3. From toilets to floors, white vinegar and baking soda are a non-toxic wonder duo.

4. Love fragrant scents and candles? Try putting some water, pine branches, lemon, and cinnamon in a pan on the stove and letting it simmer for a few minutes. The longer it simmers, the more fragrant it will be.
This a more economical method of creating your own personalized Essential Oils for use in a diffuser. Just gather the materials from any park, in quantity before winter, or acquire at any hardwood store that has year 'round Gardening. Do be careful to not leave unattended as, like with a diffuser, there is heat and thus once the water has boiled off it can burn casing the nice smells to be replaced with not so nice smells...
I tend to use Method products, a Vinegar and Water Solution and Comet for the majority of my Household Cleaning Needs. Indeed, as I have hardwood floors, I find that the vinegar and water solution misted using a simple spray bottle works better than Murphy's Wood Oil for Cleaning.
